Each
year we hold an annual campaign to raise money for the United
Way which has a remarkable and effective approach to fulfilling
human needs. It has the voluntary support of people from all walks
of life who allocate contributed dollars to more than 70 human
care agencies. One year, Webco was selected as a United
Way Trailblazing company that helped lead the way as a shining
example for that year's Tulsa Area United Way Campaign. Without
a doubt, the United Way is one of the best ways to provide help
where help is needed most. Our employees especially like the fact
that the money they donate goes to help the people in our community.

Since
1997, the Little Light House (LLH) has been Webco's Corporate
Charity. This organization has been helping special needs
children in the Tulsa area for over 25 years, and was designated
as one of the "1,000 Points of Lights" by President Bush.
LLH is a Christian developmental center for children with disabilities.
The need is so great for this type of center that they have a
two year waiting list for their services. One of the most amazing
things about LLH is that they provide their services tuition free
without funding from any government agency - it is funded entirely
by private donations.
Webco's employees contribute to these private donations in a variety
of ways. We hold an annual campaign to raise money for LLH where
employees elect to payroll deduct private contribution throughout
the year. We participate in Mini Laps and Laps for Little Ones,
LLH's major fund raising campaigns for the year which consist
of getting donations for the number of Laps walked. Additionally
we have donated proceeds from an employee baseball group outing.
In 1999, we donated box seats for a night at the Tulsa Drillers ballpark for some of the LLH families to enjoy. It always
warms our hearts to know that our donations are helping to improve
the life of a child.

Many of our locations have joined together to participate in the Lee
National Denim Day for breast cancer research. This disease
has, as it has with many other companies, brought sadness and loss
to the employees and family members of Webco. On Lee National
Denim day, Webco employees across many divisions join together
by wearing their blue jeans and a pink ribbon signifying breast
cancer research support and donating the small sum of $5.00 to participate. |
Webco
is a regular supporter of the local Salvation Army. Webco
donated a modular building to the Sand Springs Salvation Army
Boys and Girls Club. This building allows local teens a safe
haven to study and enjoy recreation and camaraderie with other peers.
Additionally, each Christmas, the Webco employees unite to
aid the Salvation Army with their Angel Tree project. Each angel
on the tree represents a child age 9 months to 15 years that is
in need of assistance ranging from clothing to toys. Our employees
provide hundreds of beautifully wrapped gifts for these children
to ensure that they are not forgotten at Christmas time.

Thanks to the good will and support of the employees of Stainless Products
Division (SPD), the Jennings Oklahoma Rural Firefighters Association
was able to fabricate and install a handrail for their storm cellar.
Additionally, SPD supported the Oklahoma State University formula
SAE racing team with some donated tubing to assist in the construction
of their race car. There is a rumor that the superior tubing quality
aided the race team in obtaining a higher ranking in the competition.
The caring spirit of the employees of Webco Industries is apparent year round!
