ASTM A789 / ASME SA789
Standard Specification for Seamless & Welded Ferritic/Austenitic Stainless Steel Tubing for General Service
This specification covers tubing designed for general corrosion resistance with emphasis on resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Grades designated here are susceptible to embrittlement if used for prolonged periods at elevated temperatures. Duplex grades, a combination of austenitic and ferritic chemistries in one, are certified to this specification and must be provided in the annealed condition. Duplex grades (such as 2205) were designed to afford the good corrosion resistance characteristics of austenitics with the strength of ferritics. Webco manufactures tubing to this specification on a customer/application specific basis. |
ASTM B704
Standard Specification for Welded UNS N06626 & N08825 Alloy Tubes
This specification covers welded nickel alloy tubing for boiler, heat exchanger, condenser, and general corrosion resisting and low or high temperature service applications. The grades covered by this specification are Alloy 625 (UNS N06625) and Alloy 825 (UNS N08825). Webco manufactures tubing for the above applications and for various oil & gas applications in coiled tubing configurations. These grades belong to the nickel-chromium-molybdenum family of corrosion resistant alloys that are especially resistant to oxidizing and reducing acid environments. |
ASTM A249 / ASME SA249
Standard Specification for Welded Austenitic Steel Boiler, Superheater, Heat-Exchanger, and Condenser Tubes
This specification covers a wide range of austenitic grades used in these applications. All tubing must be supplied in the annealed condition and include cold working of the weld area prior to final heat treatment. |
ASTM A269
Standard Specification for Seamless & Welded Austenitic Stainless Steel Tubing for General Service
This tubing specification details the manufacturing criteria for average-walled, Type 300 series (nonmagnetic) stainless grades (304L, 316L, etc.). These grades are typically used in general corrosion resisting and low to high temperature service environments. Types 304L and 316L are the most common grades used, however other grades are covered by this specification. This specification does require the tubing to be in the annealed condition. These grades are generally work-hardenable. Webco offers its tubing in the bright annealed condition and stocks many sizes for immediate shipment. |
ASTM A632
Standard Specification for Small Diameter Seamless & Welded Austenitic Stainless Steel tubing for General Service
This specification requires tighter tolerance manufacturing, heat treated tubing, and imposes additional testing criteria, including minimal tensile requirements, more rigorous manipulation test frequency, intergranular corrosion certification, and cleanliness testing, than its counterpart specification, A269. It covers Type 300 grades of stainless in outside diameters of ½" and down. Webco manufactures tubing to this specification on a customer/application specific basis. |
ASTM A554
Standard Specification for Welded Stainless Steel Mechanical Tubing
Tubing certified to this specification is comprised largely of Type 300 series grades. Tubing can be provided in either the unannealed or annealed condition. Many mechanical and ornamental applications call for tubing made to this specification when they prefer the tube in the unannealed condition. Dimensional tolerances are similar to A269 & A249. Webco manufactures tubing products to this specification on a customer/application specific basis.

ASTM A312 / ASME SA312
Standard Specification for Seamless & Welded Austenitic Stainless Steel Pipes
This specification covers the manufacturing criteria for stainless pipe, which is made from Type 300 series stainless grades (304L & 316L being the most common) for use as piping systems throughout various industries. The outside diameter and wall thickness are called out differently from tubing terminology (eg. ½" Schedule 40) is actually .840" OD with a nominal wall thickness of .109". Webco manufactures welded stainless steel pipe from 1/8" - 1" sizes and provided it with a bright annealed finish. |
